Who Can Enter? All Breeds of dogs are welcome, including "mixed" and international dogs.
When should I enter? Enter right away! Pre-registration only. There will be a maximum of 15 tests per day on a first come basis.
Who is the Tester? The tester is Sylvia Forster, who brings with her more than 18 years of experience in herding.
How long does it take? Tests take approximately 15 minutes. If time permits, a second instructional session will follow the morning and afternoon sessions.
Can my dog do it? Any dog can try a herding instinct test.
What does my dog have to do? The requirements for passing and receiving a certificate are:
– showing a natural instinct to work livestock
– showing sustained interest
– willingness to work with a handler
What can I expect?
Is it safe?
Sylvia Forster is an experienced handler and will help you work your dog. Tests are done in a small round pen. Some control must be demonstrated on lead prior to releasing. Sylvia will work hard to help create success for your dog. Safety of sheep is a priority. Questions and discussion are encouraged. We are here to have fun.
And if my dog
passes the test?
Then your dog will receive a certificate with successful completion of the test.
